Pittsburgh Business Times – Bob Hurley is leaving his position as Allegheny County’s director of economic development, a role in which he helped to lead and shape a wide breadth of initiatives from the airport area to the Mon Valley.
Hurley leaves a director position that oversees a staff of about 75 after three and a half years.
He spent 14 years working in the county department, serving in deputy director and senior deputy director functions and working with previous director Dennis Davin, who left the post in 2015 to join the administration of Gov. Tom Wolf to serve as the state’s Secretary of Community and Economic Development.
Hurley is leaving to take a new position as the Pennsylvania business development director for GAI Consultants, based in Homestead.
