Fort Wayne, IN—GAI Consultants, Inc. (GAI) today announced that Michael Siffer, PE, PTOE, Transportation Technical Leader, has been elected to serve as Indiana Section Board Member for the 2021 Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) Great Lakes District.

• The Institute of Transportation Engineers, an international individual member educational and scientific association, is a multimodal professional transportation organization.
• In 2021, as part of the One ITE Initiative the ITE Great Lakes District unites the Indiana Section, Michigan Section, and Ohio Section with the North Central Section, Illinois Section, and Wisconsin Section from the former Midwestern ITE District.
• ITE members are traffic engineers, transportation planners, scientists, managers, technologists, and other professionals who are responsible for safe and efficient surface transportation through planning, designing, implementing, operating, and maintaining surface transportation systems.

About Michael Siffer:

• Michael joined GAI in 2007 and specializes in overseeing and coordinating design of highway and traffic engineering projects.
• His skills in roadway and traffic design include all aspects of horizontal and vertical design, roadside safety criteria, and traffic analysis of intersections, corridors, and work zones.
• Michael has a thorough understanding of highway and traffic design requirements, and continually updates his knowledge through his contacts with regulatory agencies and associations.
• He was a 2018 and 2020 Indiana ITE/LTAP Transportation Seminar Planning Committee Member and previously served as Secretary for the American Society of Highway Engineers, Northwest Ohio Section.
