On a high-profile, $800 million project, GAI as subconsultant is providing construction engineering and inspection (CEI) and oversight to Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) for the new Southern Beltway (SR 576) roadway construction project in Washington and Allegheny Counties. The project extends the previously constructed portion of the Beltway that connects Pittsburgh International Airport and US 22 for 13 miles farther east to Interstate 79.

The project has been divided into nine construction sections: two sections have been completed, and four are presently under construction. The current scope for which GAI is providing services includes construction of three mainline bridge structures and one overpass structure, as well as a 1,370-ft, five-span bridge—an area of approximately 8 miles.
