Dana Cress

Architectural Historian

Dana Cress specializes in conducting archival research and historic resource surveys for compliance projects. She has authored dozens of reports to meet various federal, state, and municipal agency standards. Dana has always had a passion for architectural history, with academic focuses in environmental and agricultural histories. Her vast knowledge of historic contexts of landscapes and built environments informs her ability to conduct original research and writing for Section 106, NEPA, and 4(f) reports, building histories, and Phase II/III ESAs; and to complete grant-funded projects and surveys, including historic district surveys, tax credit projects, and National Register of Historic Places nominations.

Dana previously served as an adjunct history instructor at Edison Community College in Piqua, Ohio, and as a historic resource surveyor for the Ohio History Service Corps. She also has experience with heritage and historical interpretation, and has offered professional assistance to several local historical societies and preservation groups.
