GAI conducted a Phase I archaeological survey for the multiple projects as part of a client’s multiyear Transmission Reinforcement Program. These surveys addressed necessary transmission system upgrades, modification of existing components, and the construction of new overhead electric transmission lines. Crews conducted systematic visual inspections, shovel test pits, and subsurface testing for each project area. In partnership with our client, GAI successfully avoided negatively impacting six cemeteries and four prehistoric sites across the project area.
