Orlando, FL—GAI Consultants, Inc. (GAI) welcomes transportation engineering veteran John Hornbeck, PE as Vice President to serve as the firm’s Florida Transportation Deputy Business Sector Leader. John brings more than 34 years of comprehensive transportation design and project management experience, along with long-standing relationships with key clients throughout Florida and the Southeast. Based in GAI’s Orlando, FL office, John will leverage his experience and strong industry relationships to help expand GAI’s presence in Florida and beyond.

John’s extensive background includes leadership on major roadway, limited-access highway, transit, rail, and interchange projects for clients including the Florida Department of Transportation, Central Florida Expressway Authority, Central Florida Tourism Oversight District, Brightline, Jacksonville Transportation Authority, and others. He is a seasoned leader whose expertise spans conceptual planning through final engineering design, public involvement, stakeholder coordination, and construction-phase support.

John holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Duke University and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. John is also a U.S. Army veteran.
