Assistant Engineering Director

Christopher Woodland, PE leads GAI Consultants’ West Virginia Transportation and Infrastructure Team, serving as a key project manager for multidisciplinary transportation projects throughout the state while also providing client management and driving business-development efforts.

With nearly 30 years of experience in engineering and project management, Chris has extensive background in bridge and transportation infrastructure, including complex structure rehabilitations, bridge widening and redecking, new bridge design and construction, and National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) inspections of in-service structures. His broad expertise across transportation engineering disciplines equips him to lead multidisciplinary teams and integrate technical, project management, and stakeholder considerations for effective infrastructure project delivery.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from West Virginia University, Morgantown. He has maintained a longstanding commitment to professional service through the American Council of Engineering Companies of West Virginia (ACEC-WV), where he has served in numerous leadership roles, including President. He currently represents the organization as its National Director.
