Michael Kretsch, PE

Project Engineer

In his role at GAI, Michael contributes to a broad range of civil engineering projects with an emphasis on stormwater, wastewater, and potable water management solutions. Over a career spanning more than 4 decades, he has performed evaluations including flood studies and dam-breach analyses; created designs for water-quality ditches, shoreline preservation, and treatment ponds; built hydraulic models for municipal water management; advised and assisted clients with regulatory and permitting compliance; and managed the design and delivery of major infrastructure projects including road expansions, commercial sites, residential subdivisions, hospital expansions, and more.

Michael has supported the development of his fellow professionals by drawing on his experience to mentor and teach classes in hydrology, GIS, and storm drain design, and has helped interns and beginning drafters to develop their AutoCAD and MicroStation skills. He is a certified Professional Engineer in MD and DE, and holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (BCE) degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
