Bob Houston Jr.

Senior Director, Environmental and Energy Services

Bob specializes in managing environmental assessments and environmental impact studies; ecological, socioeconomic, archaeological, and cultural resources studies; and facilities siting studies. He has broad experience interpreting and applying governmental regulations and procedures relative to facility permitting, land reclamation, and public interface programs. Over his extensive career, Bob has been responsible for the siting, licensing/certification, and permitting of more than 5,600 miles of natural gas and electric transmission lines, and has compiled 148 days of expert testimony before public service commissions, permitting boards, and formal agency hearings.

Bob holds a Bachelor of Science in zoology from Penn State University and has completed graduate research for a PhD (ABD) in biogeochemistry and aquatic ecology at the University of Pittsburgh. He has undergone GAI’s Harvard Leadership Development Training and Advanced Project Management Training, and established the Robert J. Houston Military Excellence Scholarship for Eberly College of Science at Penn State University.
