Created in 2010, the iGaive program has evolved to streamline charity and community
involvement activities across GAI’s 25 office locations.

We are proud to announce our 2016 Charity of Choice: Make-A-Wish America. The mission of Make-A-Wish is to “… grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy.” This year’s Make-A-Wish campaign will include kick-off meetings at various GAI office locations, planned social fundraising events, and a variety of local efforts to raise money and elevate awareness.

Past iGaive activities have included The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night, Make-A-Wish campaigns, food drives, Wheels for Kids, holiday toy drives, Thanksgiving turkey giveaways, PBS Pledge Drives, Holiday Cards for Heroes, and much more.

The philanthropy program has a two-pronged approach. With regard to corporate sponsorships and donations, the iGaive Executive Committee researches and recommends philanthropic opportunities to our President/CEO, who ultimately decides which efforts we support at a corporate level. Concerning local volunteering, under the direction of the iGaive Executive Committee, a volunteer from each office location serves as the Local iGaive Committee Representative, representing and spearheading local iGaive efforts and participation. These local activities might include food drives, student mentoring, or participation in any community event that seeks to improve the lives of community members.

  • “iGaive” is GAI’s corporate flag for giving—an acknowledgement of a generous and caring team spirit. This employee-driven initiative was sparked by a special class project under GAI’s Leadership Development program.
  • GAI employees give from the heart year-round. Whether a “Pass it Forward” act of kindness in their immediate community, or a compassion for others wherever they may be, giving is part of our corporate culture.
  • That we “make a difference” is more than client-speak at GAI—it defines our corporate family.

“GAI has a Corporate philosophy of encouraging a culture of giving back to the communities we serve. I’m very proud of the effort our staff made for Make-A-Wish America as the firm’s 2016 Charity of Choice along with all the other year round charitable activities that have occurred!”

Gary M. DeJidas, P.E., CEO, GAI Consultants
