An accomplished civil engineer, Mr. Smith brings more than 20 years of experience working as a consultant for state, local, and private organizations.

• Darrell specializes in highway design and analysis, including geometrics, interchange design, drainage design, stormwater management, transportation planning, and project management.
• His significant past projects include serving as Task Manager/Project Engineer for the Brent Spence Strategic Corridor Study for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet in Kentucky and Ohio; as Design Team Lead on the General Engineering Consultant (GEC) Kentucky Bridge Program & GEC Kentucky Emergency Flood Response Bridge Team; and as Project Manager for the Air Commerce Drive at KY 841 Interchange for the Louisville Regional Airport Authority in Jefferson County, KY.
• Darrell holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the West Virginia University Institute of Technology and is a Registered Professional Engineer in West Virginia and Kentucky.
