Indianapolis, IN—National engineering, planning, and environmental consulting firm GAI Consultants, Inc. (GAI) today announced that Justin Zimmer, PE and Shawn Slaymon have joined its Midwest Infrastructure Business Sector.

“I am excited to have Justin and Shawn join our GAI Midwest team,” said GAI Vice President Scott Hornsby, PE. “They bring extensive experience and a client’s perspective to our team with Justin being a former Elkhart County highway engineer and Shawn coming from INDOT as the Stormwater Team lead. Justin and Shawn make our 8^th and 9^th new hires for 2022 in Indiana!”

Bringing more than 12 years of experience on road and small structure design projects, Justin will serve GAI’s new and existing clients as a Senior Project Engineer. He previously served as an Elkhart County, IN staff highway engineer and is knowledgeable in asset management and infrastructure condition assessments. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Purdue University and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Indiana.

Joining GAI as a Project Environmental Specialist, Shawn brings more than 15 years of environmental and permitting experience to augment and streamline GAI’s Midwest services. He is a former INDOT Stormwater Team lead who specializes in permitting, landscape design, and mitigation planning. Shawn holds a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from Purdue University.
