GAI Consultants Welcomes Richard Kodera, Bolstering Power & Energy Business

Richard KoderaPittsburgh, PA—GAI Consultants, Inc. (GAI) today announced the addition of Richard Kodera, PE, PEng, to the firm’s executive leadership team. Mr. Kodera will provide strategic oversight of the firm’s Power & Energy Business as Senior Vice President. Richard’s strategic guidance and leadership will help expand the firm’s geographic footprint and develop client accounts. Richard is based in GAI’s Orlando, FL office.

Richard brings a broad industry perspective to GAI, with more than 20 years of technical and project management experience at professional services and utility companies including Stantec, Duke Energy (formerly Progress Energy), and Florida Power and Light.

Welcoming Richard to GAI allows Executive Vice President and former Power & Energy Business President Stephen Gould, MS, MBA to transition to full-time Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). As CAO, Stephen will provide strategic guidance and leadership to GAI’s Corporate Services departments vital to maintaining GAI’s company culture and optimizing the firm’s corporate systems to support and accommodate ongoing scalable expansion.

Highlights/Key Facts

  • Most recently, Richard served as Vice President at Stantec where he was responsible for strategic growth via strong account management principles, primarily within the power delivery practice area (transmission, station, distribution, and renewable interconnections).
  • He is experienced in successfully leading key accounts, in various capacities, which included traditional power delivery, renewable generation, conventional generation, industrial-water, and energy portfolios.
  • Richard’s technical expertise includes successful execution of transmission / substation / distribution projects, from 4kV to 765kV, inclusive of contributions on HVDC projects. Of late, he has supported clients by leading technical feasibility studies, routing / siting studies, and capital budget planning for complex grid modernization projects, domestically and internationally.
  • Richard is a registered Professional Engineer in Florida, Pennsylvania, California, Puerto Rico, and British Columbia.
  • Richard holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Florida, along with completing an executive leadership program from Duke University.
