Pittsburgh, PA—National engineering, planning, and environmental consulting firm GAI Consultants, Inc. (GAI) today announced that its Chairman and CEO Gary M. DeJidas, PE, MBA recently celebrated 50 years of continuous service with the company. At an event hosted by GAI on May 2, 2022, Orlando District 4 City Commissioner Patty Sheehan presented Gary with a proclamation declaring May 15, 2022, to be “Gary DeJidas Day” in Orlando, FL. Also in attendance was Officer Eddie Rosado of the Orlando Police department, along with GAI Board of Directors and staff members.

“I have enjoyed spending my entire professional career at GAI and experiencing the many challenges and successes we have had over the years,” said Gary DeJidas. “This is a great company with a lot of wonderful employees that work together to make GAI a very special place.”

Born and raised in the Greenfield neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Gary, along with his wife Mary and their children and grandchildren, currently live in Orlando, FL. Gary and Mary are also part-time residents of Summerset at Frick Park, one of Pittsburgh’s most successful urban residential developments and a GAI project. Gary joined GAI as a civil engineer in 1972, and later was selected to open GAI’s first branch office in Orlando, FL, providing him valuable entrepreneurial experience in growing a business. When Gary was unanimously elected GAI President and CEO in 2003, he launched a period of tremendous development and growth for the company. As part of GAI’s succession planning strategy, Gary passed the role of President to the firm’s former Executive Vice President in 2017. Gary continues to serve as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors and collaborates closely with the firm’s senior leadership team to maintain the success and stability that their combined efforts have brought to GAI.

On May 15, 2022, Gary celebrated the milestone occasion with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
