Charleston Gazette-Mail – After a volunteer group that oversaw a Charleston playground dissolved earlier this year, a new group of people has been considering what it would take to turn Celebration Station into an inclusive community park in the East End.
Celebration Station Inc, or Friends of Celebration Station, dissolved earlier this year. The group oversaw the maintenance of the playground, which is owned by Kanawha County Schools and used by students at Piedmont Elementary, as well as other children. … Councilwoman Mary Beth Hoover, who represents the ward that includes the playground, said the city paid a few thousand dollars for GAI Consultants to draw up a preliminary plan for the playground.
