SPEO Honors Engineer with Annual Award
Pittsburgh, PA—Southwestern Pennsylvania Engineering Outreach (SPEO) has honored GAI Consultants, Inc. (GAI) Engineering Director David Troianos, PE with the 2018 Wallenberg Award. This annual award is presented to a SPEO member-selected recipient at the organization’s yearly Opportunities Forum event.

About the Award:
- The award recognizes an SPEO member who epitomizes the spirit of Raoul Wallenberg: “For making the lives of others better; for lifting up others because it is the right thing to do, not because the world is watching; for simply helping others because they are human beings, not because they are of a certain race.”
- The award was bestowed on David at the 2018 Annual Opportunities Forum on February 6, 2018.
- SPEO is committed to its mission of increasing the opportunities available to its minority- and women-owned business enterprise members and prospective engineering and science students.
About Mr. Troianos:
- Throughout his 29 years of experience, David has been involved in all phases of civil engineering projects, specializing in water, wastewater, and storm sewer system investigations, studies, designs, treatment, and capital improvement projects.
- As an industry advocate, David serves as Board Secretary for Southwestern Pennsylvania Engineering Outreach and as a member of the Point Park University Engineering Technology Industrial Advisory Committee.
- David is a registered professional engineer and holds a master’s certificate in Project Management from the University of Pittsburgh, Katz Graduate School of Business, in addition to a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Point Park University.
