Hardy Storage Stream and Wetland Mitigation Overview
West Virginia
This project involved the installation of 32 miles of pipeline facilities and 18 natural gas storage wells. To meet federal and state permitting requirements under Sections 404 and 401 of the Clean Water Act, GAI provided environmental study services and conducted environmental field surveys. GAI also assisted in the selection of wetland mitigation sites, mitigating permanent impacts to streams and wetlands in the project area and offsetting impacts to emergent wetland and forested wetland habitats. GAI’s stream restoration design incorporated natural channel design techniques that reestablished the stream’s natural flow regime.
