Routing and Feasibility Studies – Generation, Import, and Transmission Facilities

Routing and Feasibility Studies – Generation, Import, and Transmission Facilities Overview

Honduras

GAI provided siting and design services for a proposed major upgrade to the Central American power grid. The project included a 780 MW combined-cycle power plant, a liquefied natural gas import and storage facility, and a 375-kilometer 230kV transmission line connecting the power plant with the Honduran and Salvadoran electrical grids. As prime consultant, GAI coordinated a team of 16 firms from El Salvador, Honduras, Peru, Canada, Puerto Rico, Spain, and the United States to conduct siting and feasibility studies. Data collection and reporting were consistent with World Bank Group requirements and the respective national regulatory agencies, and both Spanish and English versions of all documents were produced.
