GAI Consultant’s Community Solutions Group (CSG) has been retained to help the University of Florida (UF) develop a Wayfinding Master Plan and sign schedule that meets new campus brand standards. We have also developed bid documents for a phased implemention of the new sign types, following the master plan.

To accomplish this, CSG hosted a kick-off meeting and provided research, analysis, schematic design, and detailed design to demonstrate the design intent for signage and wayfinding. CSG provided three schematic design options, and UF narrowed down the choices to two sign families. The two preferred options were handed off to a fabricator to create sign mock-ups and gather feedback based on built signs.

Once the project is finalized, we will have created a system that will be unique and unified throughout UF that would reflect both the City of Gainesville and UF’s brand. The system should inform visitors of buildings and destinations on campus, where to park depending upon those destinations, and once parked, how to locate amenities, features, and destinations.
