Pittsburgh, PA – Bringing over 30 years of experience with power generating systems and facilities, GAI Consultants (GAI) welcomes David J. Bevilacqua, Senior Director, to the firm’s Energy Business Unit. David’s extensive knowledge includes turbine and generator engineering, design engineering, construction and project management for nuclear power plants, fossil power plants, and power generating systems and facilities. His most recent accomplishment included design and installation services for Westinghouse’s AP1000 next-generation power plant, currently being built in four locations around the world.
In his prior role with Allegheny Energy, Mr. Bevilacqua led the engineering and construction division to provide engineering services, construction management, project management, and technical specialist services for over 11,000 MWs of electrical generation capacity located in 29 power generation facilities. While at Westinghouse Electric Company, Mr. Bevilacqua led the domestic engineering and construction group providing engineering, construction management, and project management services for capital projects at nuclear generation facilities across the U.S., as well as leading their welding services globally.
David holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and was previously an Industry Advisory Board Member for the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Advanced Combustion Turbine Program, and Board Member for the National Maintenance Agreements Policy Committee. David will be based out of GAI’s Murrysville, PA office.
