138 kV Transmission Line Siting Overview
Virginia
A new 7.5-mile, 138 kV transmission line was necessary to provide reliable electric service and support load growth. Key constraints in the project area included intense urban development and sensitive environmental resources. GAI developed alternatives and prepared a detailed siting study, conducted extensive environmental and cultural resources surveys, provided expert witness testimony to support the certificate of public convenience and necessity (CPCN), and coordinated permitting efforts for the project.
