Data Center Relocation Overview
Albany, NY
The State University of New York at Albany relocated their university data center by renovating and expanding an existing services building on the western end of the uptown campus. The existing 26,000-square-foot, one-story building received a 12,300-square foot, one-story addition to create a 38,300-square-foot, state-of-the-art, IT building. The 2.80-acre site was also redesigned to include 16 on-grade parking spaces.
Creighton Manning, a GAI Company, was the civil engineering subconsultant on the project. The scope of work included relocation of utilities as well as services related to site grading, drainage, stormwater management, landscape architecture, parking, and design of pedestrian and vehicular access. Creighton Manning was also responsible for retaining and managing subconsultants for topographic surveying and subsurface utility surveying of the project site.
