GAI Consultants’ President Honored by Smart Business

Pittsburgh, PA—On November 9, Smart Business honored GAI Consultants, Inc. (GAI) President Anthony (Tony) Morrocco, PE, PLS, MBA with a Smart 50 award. Bestowed annually, the Smart 50 awards recognize 50 individual company executives for building and leading successful organizations.

About the Award

• The Greater Pittsburgh-region Smart 50 award ceremony was held at the Fairmont Pittsburgh Hotel in Pittsburgh, PA.
• Daniel J. Rice IV, CEO of Rice Energy, gave the keynote presentation at the awards ceremony.
• The awards ceremony was also attended by GAI Senior Vice President Stephen Gould, MS, MBA; Assistant Vice President David Bevilacqua; and Senior Civil Technical Manager Lisa Keck.
• GAI CEO and Board Chairman Gary DeJidas, PE was a recipient of the 2014 Smart Business Smart 50 Awards for the Greater Pittsburgh region.

About Anthony Morrocco

• Beginning as a project manager in 1989, Tony established GAI’s Land Development and Survey groups and directed their development for several years, completing significant projects that changed Pittsburgh’s skyline.
• Tony advanced his career at GAI from Group Manager and Project Manager to the position of Managing Officer of GAI’s Pittsburgh office.
• During his tenure as office manager, Tony assisted in developing additional office space to handle the consolidation and growth of GAI’s Pittsburgh office from 200+ to 400+ employees.
• As Chief Operating Officer, Tony was responsible for overseeing GAI’s Business Units, leading the Business and Strategic Planning processes and providing guidance and direction to GAI’s professional and administrative staff in all offices.
• GAI’s Board of Directors elected Tony President in June, 2017 as part of its leadership succession planning.
• Going forward, Tony will continue to work closely with GAI CEO and Chairman Gary DeJidas, PE to lead the firm’s strategic growth.
