WCHS – This area has several names around Charleston, The Transit Mall, Brawley Walkway, or the Slack Street Plaza. It’s also had its fair share of problems over the years, and not everyone in Charleston feels safe using the walkways.
“A lot of people that are familiar with the downtown area know that the transit is more of a sketchy environment, they feel. It keeps them from coming downtown,” said Marcus Jenkins, who works at the Charleston Town Center.
