GAI Consultants’ Rusty Sievers, PE Nominated for Lifetime Achievement Award

RustySieversOrlando, FL—GAI Consultants (GAI) is pleased to announce that Senior Engineering Manager and former Senior Vice President Jeffrey M. “Rusty” Sievers, PE has been nominated for the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE) Lifetime Achievement Award. Mr. Sievers joined GAI in 1990 and specializes in providing engineering and planning support and expert witness services to appraisers and attorneys on the acquisition of property (eminent domain) for transportation projects.

About Mr. Sievers

  • Sievers is a registered Professional Engineer with over 45 years of experience in the planning, design, and construction of transportation and site development projects.
  • He was promoted to Senior Vice-President and manager of the Orlando office in 2003, and shortly after, was promoted to Chief Operations Officer/Executive Vice-President, responsible for eight GAI operating offices in six states.
  • In 2009, Rusty became the Regional Manager of GAI’s Southeast operations and in 2013 he was appointed operations manager for GAI’s Transportation Business Unit.
  • Today, Rusty juggles family life while staying active in his profession by serving as a Senior Engineering Manager in a semi-retired capacity.
  • Rusty is active in many professional organizations, including the American Society of Highway Engineers, where he has served as President (1995-1996), Director (1993-1995, 2009-2012), Regional Director (1998-2000), Treasurer (2000-2002), and Chairman of the History and By-Laws Committee (2000-2015).
  • He holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Valparaiso University, Indiana.

About the Award

  • The ASHE Lifetime Achievement Award was established to recognize an ASHE member who has supported the organization throughout their career.
  • Rusty’s nomination for the Lifetime Achievement Award was submitted to the ASHE National Board by the Central Florida Section.
  • Judging of nominations will be performed by the ASHE National Nominating Committee.
  • The final award will be presented at the ASHE National Conference in Pittsburgh, PA.
