Colorado Wind Project – Civil and Environmental Services Overview
Colorado
GAI performed civil engineering design and permitting services for a wind farm in Colorado. The project is a 75 MW wind generator facility consisting of 30 Gamesa G1142.1 MW wind turbines and six Gamesa G1142.0 MW wind turbines. The project will utilize 36 turbines atop 80-meter-high towers with 114-meter rotors. The project will be interconnected to a service company via a loop-feed tie to an existing 230kV transmission line adjacent to the project substation. GAI’s tasks included conceptual plans, 60 percent design/bid package (grading plan – access roads; grading plan – 36 turbines; grading plan – project facilities; E&S control design of the access roads and turbine; stormwater management design of the access road and turbine; E&S control design of the project facilities; stormwater management design of the project facilities; engineers estimate; site review of the facility layout; review of offsite roadway improvements; and review of all impacted bridges and culverts), Issued for Construction (IFC) design package, SWPPP, and permitting support.
