Working with the City of Bedford, Indiana, GAI provided design and construction observation and monitoring services for the rehabilitation and new construction of Bedford Plaza Drive.

The $3.25 million federally funded project involved the construction of a new road with underground utilities from SR 37 east and north to the existing Plaza Drive, then continuing to 16th Street. Services provided included construction observation for new storm and sanitary sewers, embankment construction and excavation, new asphalt pavement with concrete curb and gutter, sidewalks and ADA ramps, a new traffic signal, and more.

This project required coordination to maintain the entrances to businesses along Plaza Drive while work proceeded—GAI facilitated daily communications among adjacent businesses, the City of Bedford, and local news to keep the public aware of when sections of Plaza Drive were closed.
