Staff Augmentation and Inspections Associated with Virginia Solar Farms Overview

GAI supports a utility providing staff augmentation on its large-scale solar initiatives. In this role, GAI provides site due diligence for potential solar farms. GAI reviews surveys, geotechnical reports, environmental reports, conceptual site plans and provides concerns and recommendations to the utility. GAI also assists EPCs working for the utility with activities required in the process of obtaining permits through VADEQ, VDOT, and local, county, and city jurisdictions.
In addition to staff augmentation services, GAI supports a utility and developers by providing environmental compliance coordinators (ECCs) on their large-scale solar sites. In this role, GAI provides on-site regulatory and technical support to plan, coordinate, monitor, and oversee compliance with environmental regulations and permits during the preconstruction, construction, and post construction phases (site walkdowns, leading on-site environmental meetings, training for project team members and on-site contractors, and liaison with regulators). Environmental permits, plans, and regulatory requirements include, but are not limited to: Land Disturbance/Grading Permit; Stormwater Management Program Construction Storm Water General Permit; U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Section 404 Permit for Wetland and Stream impacts; Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plan and Spill/Emergency Response Plan; Emergency Planning Community Right to Know Act, Clean Water Act; and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA).
