Stev Pierre, PE is one of hundreds of skilled GAI professionals who help clients create better communities, transportation infrastructure, energy generation and delivery, and more from our office locations throughout the United States. Today we will find out a little about Stev —the background, motivation, and methods that he brings to the table every day for GAI and GAI’s clients.
Q: Can you tell us a little bit about your area of specialization and what drew you to it?
I am a Civil Engineer and I have been doing site design for almost 13 years. One of the things that attracted me to this profession is the many different pieces that make up civil engineering work like site layout, utility layout, earthwork, sewer layout, and more. There is always something interesting about the projects I get to take part in because the work is so varied.
Q: What role do you play in the projects you typically contribute to, and what level of resources can you deploy to achieve your clients’ goals?
I enjoy managing commercial, residential, and educational projects. I provide civil engineering design services for large warehouses, subdivisions, parks, and colleges. These services typically include site layouts, storm sewer layouts, pond sizing, and sanitary sewer layouts.
GAI has a talented team of professionals who have been working in many industry practice areas for years. We have our local Midwest team of professionals, many with more than 20 years of experience in civil engineering and land development with the ability to assist in site planning and design, construction administration, permitting, and roadway traffic engineering. In addition, our project capacity is expanded by being able to reach beyond our local team to tap staffing and resources from GAI offices located across 13 states to provide clients a broad range of civil engineering services including drainage design, plan preparation, regulatory, utilities coordination, and much more. In addition to increasing our project capacity, our access to professional resources from across the company supports our ability to help our clients meet their deadlines.
Q: What do you like most about your job, and why do you feel that GAI is a good place to put your skills to work?
In this job, every project is different, and I love this dynamic aspect of my work. It keeps me engaged and focused on achieving the project’s goals for our clients. But the best part of this job for me is to see our work become a physical reality. I pride myself on being able to work with GAI planners on the development of realistic concept plans and deploying the diverse professional resources we have available to quickly and efficiently get our clients’ projects permitted and completed.
GAI is structured in a way to help you succeed in your responsibilities to the great benefit of both the company’s staff and clients.

More importantly, I’ve enjoyed an amazing amount of support from GAI’s leadership as well as other departments and practice areas throughout the company—GAI is structured in a way to help you succeed in your responsibilities to the great benefit of both the company’s staff and clients.
