GAI provided design services for upgrading a line terminal position of a 500kV breaker-and-a-half substation. The project involved installing new 500kV motor-operated air break switches, new surge arresters, new conductor, bus supports, and protective relaying upgrades including new breaker failure panels, lockouts and metering. GAI provided structural analysis for existing bus supports and foundations for the station as well as design for new supports. GAI specified and ordered all material for the project and reviewed vendor drawings for conformance to client specification.
