Winner of an ACEC Engineering Excellence-Structural Systems award, this project started with the study of five steel bridge alternatives and one concrete bridge alternative. Having the selected four-girder structure fabricated of weathering steel and using kinked rather than curved girders reduced fabrication, shipping, and maintenance costs.
