GAI is the lead designer working with Lane Construction on the FDOT District Five improvements to the I-4/SR 535 interchange and extension of westbound express lanes from west of SR 536 to west of Daryl Carter Parkway in Orange County. This high-volume interchange provides access to Walt Disney World, the Dr. Phillips area, and local shopping/attractions. GAI’s design incorporated Alternative Technical Concepts (ATCs) that have improved constructability, saved valuable tax dollars, and accommodated major utility stakeholders. As part of the overall efforts, milling and resurfacing, structures (new and rehabilitated), drainage, signing and pavement marking, lighting, and ITS will be included. This project is ongoing.
