Since 2011, GAI has been working for Carnegie Mellon University in a continuing services capacity, focusing on miscellaneous engineering services. Projects under this assignment have included the joint Oakland/CMU Pedestrian Safety and Mobility Study, in which GAI reviewed and analyzed pedestrian movements, traffic and parking statistics, and accident data to develop design concepts for potential street configurations that would maximize safety and access for pedestrians.
